Thoughts on Frisco after living abroad for 8 years. What happened?

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

I would never want to have been born and raised anywhere else except for Frisco! PERIOD! I loved my childhood and young adult life living in the Sko, but I have nothing really nice to say about it now. What happened? It's August 2022 and I am on my 8th day of being back in Fog Town.

I feel no connection to The City anymore. Everyone sounds like my sister regardless of age, race, or gender. Where I live in the Avenues everything has turned into a cafe, prices are outrageous and people are still assholes. They were assholes before I left. That was one of the main reasons why I left in the first place. That, and the cost of living.

I don’t get these walking streets either. I have been walking around my hood everyday and while I think walking is great (I don’t own a car and walk everywhere) I don’t see other people walking. It seems to make California Street more congested with Lake Street closed, yet no one is really taking advantage of this, at least not when I’m walking about.

I could say the same for Golden Gate Park which I’ve been walking around almost everyday. Do we really need to close off all these streets when they are not being taken advantage of? For the time being, even though I don’t have a car I am not a fan of these walking streets.

My old middle school Presidio looks insanely different than when I last saw it. All weather track, structure, a statue of a panther and more. It looks really nice! There is a park above those new tunnels going into Chrissy Field which is nice. Gordo’s still exists. 4 Star seems to be alive. Freddy’s sandwiches looks alive and well and I just read an article about it, so that's awesome!

I haven’t really been anywhere else in the city so far, however I did have to make a trip to the IRS…to GET some money and I was successful! Pumped about that! But woah, driving through Fillmoe and the jects….white people with flip flops and surf boards? OK. That's new.

Do people still say hella? Or anything that made us stand out? Maybe I’m just an out of date fossil.

Anyways, that's my rant so far about MY city which doesn’t feel at all like my city.
