Yilan City

Yilan County is a scenic region located in the northeastern part of Taiwan, bordering the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Central Mountain Range to the west. The county is known for its stunning natural beauty, with rolling hills, lush forests, and picturesque coastlines. Yilan County is dope! Another nature paradise, Yilan county has an ocean to the east, and is surrounded by mountains to the west, south, and north. Home to Turtle Island and famous for its hot springs, Yilan is a place to relax or put on those hiking shoes and explore some trails up in the mountains! You can’t really lose out on the east coast, and Yilan doesn’t disappoint, when it comes to natural beauty. The city itself was "meh"…but again, most cities in Taiwan are “meh..” The only negative in the county is the rain. It does rain here, and it can rain hard!​ 

宜蘭超棒的。另一個自然天堂，宜蘭縣東臨海洋，西，南，北邊被山圍繞，也是龜山島的所屬縣市，以溫泉著名。宜蘭是一個可以放鬆或是穿上鞋子就去山裡的步道探索的地方。你不能錯過東海岸，提到自然美景，宜蘭不會讓你失望的，城市本身...嗯你知道的，但你要知道台灣的城市都是這樣...嗯...。唯一的缺點就是下雨。不但下雨還是傾盆大雨。

Aohua Waterfall 📸🚗

I found this waterfall on one of my many road trips. This was fun. I drove across a river, went to the falls and it was beautiful.  There were only a couple people there. It was unfortunate that I did not bring trunks because there is a pool to wade in. It's a pretty easy hike as well. Upon returning I picked up a Taiwanese couple so they wouldn’t have to walk across the river again! Fun Times!​ 

澳花瀑布: 我在某一趟的公路旅行中發現這個瀑布。很有趣，我開過一條河，朝向瀑布。很美麗的瀑布。只有一些人在那裏。不幸的是我沒有帶呼吸管因為有一個池子可以下去。也是一個輕鬆的健行路建。回程的路上我順道載了一對台灣情侶。所以他們就不用花太多時間過河。有趣的時光。

Fenniaolin Beach ❤️🏠🚗

Going past the port will lead you to a small beach with dope rock formations. There are lots of places to explore in this area. ​ 

粉鳥林海灘: 穿過港口你會發現一個小海灘，有很酷的岩石造型。這裡也有很多地方可以探險。

Xinliao Falls Trail ❤️🏠📸🚗

Nice waterfall, though can be crowded. It’s easy to get to.​ 

新寮瀑布步道:不錯的瀑布，人有點多。很容易前往。

Meihua Hu ❤️🏠🚗

This place was nice for a walk. You can also bike. The lake itself is nice.​ 

梅花湖: 是一個很棒的散步地點。你也可以騎腳踏車。湖本身也很棒。

安農溪分洪堰風景區 ❤️🏠🚗

A walking path along a river. It was very relaxing and quiet. Cool bridges and lots of green spaces.​

在河邊有一條步道，很悠閒安靜。很酷的橋很多綠地。

壯圍海岸盪鞦韆 ❤️🏠📸🚗⭐

Little swing at the beach. Nothing special, but maybe fun or nice for photos.​ 

在海灘上的小鞦韆，沒甚麼特別的，但拍照可以會很有趣。

五峰旗瀑布 ❤️🏠📸🚗

This is a nice area, even aside from the waterfall. Good for families and solo hiking and nature loving. Check it out!​ 

很棒的地方，即使你遠離瀑布依然有趣。適合家族或單獨健行。喜愛大自然的你，來看看吧

Houdongkeng Waterfall ❤️🏠🚗

Easy waterfall to reach. Can be crowded, but worth checking out.​ 

猴洞坑瀑布: 很容易到達的瀑布。有時很多人，但值得一看

下埔綠色隧道 ❤️

It’s in Toucheng and it was kind of hard to find. It's a little nature spot in town where you can see birds and go for a quiet walk or relax.​ 

這裡在頭城，有點難找到。是城鎮裡的小小自然。你可以賞鳥，或是享受寧靜的散步及放鬆。

Nanfangao Lookout 📸🚗

This is a quick place to stop by to catch some pictures because of its awesome view of the landscape below.​ 

南方澳觀景台: 這裡是一個很便利作短暫停留拍照的地方。因為南方澳的美景在此一覽無遺。

Dongshan Mr. Brown Avenue ❤️🏠📸🚗⭐

I never knew who Mr. Brown was, but there are several Mr. Brown’s. This was a fun place to fly my drone and take pictures of rice fields. Some areas even had very impressive artworks within the fields.​ 

冬山伯朗大道:我從來都不知道誰是伯朗先生，但有好幾個伯朗大道。這裡是一個有趣的地方可以飛我的空拍機，然後拍稻田的景觀。有些地方，田裏面有一些很令人印象深刻的藝術作品

Linmei Shipan Trail ❤️🚗

A nice little trail. Easy walking and pretty beautiful. ​ 

林美石磐步道: 很棒，小小的步道。很容易走且很美麗。

Lanyang Museum ❤️🏠📸🚗

Another museum, but the design and location of this museum is amazing! Even if you don’t like museums, just seeing the building and walking about the area is enough. ​ 

蘭陽博物館: 另一個博物館，但是外觀跟地點都超棒的。即使你不喜歡博物館，光看建築物本身跟走走周邊區域就已經夠了。。

Waiao Beach ❤️🏠

This is one of the popular beaches. Locals and visitors alike go here. Not sure why, because there are way better ones around, but it's a popular one. Surfing, maybe? I prefer more empty beaches. But they do have a small strip of places to stay here right along the beach which is quite nice.​

外澳海灘: 這裡是一個受歡迎的海灘，當地人跟遊客都喜歡來這裡。不知道為什麼，因為有很多更好的選擇，但這裡很熱門。衝浪嗎?也許。我更喜歡沒有人的海灘。但這裡有一整條的民宿就在海灘旁邊可供選擇，也很不錯。

Turtle Island ❤️🏠📸⭐

You can only get here by boat and with a tour.  Tours cost 1500NT to go to the island and dolphin watching. I didn’t really pay attention to the tour, so when I got off the boat I immediately walked off on my own. The tour guide had to chase me down and explain that I had to remain with the tour. I was not happy. Families, little kids, grandparents…that's just not my speed. To hike to the top there is a narrow trail which is actually pretty challenging for someone who isn’t a seasoned hiker, like me. I hike a lot, but I don’t enjoy it for the sake of hiking. I hike to document things I find impressive. We are walking up the stairs, kids are crying, and I’m miserable, stuck in the line going hella slow. After some time, we finally hit a rest stop and some Taiwanese kid (teenager) started walking up on his own. The guide said nothing to him, so I followed him, and we got up way before anyone else. By the time the next person came, I was already done photographing, so I was just waiting for my partner, NY Chen. She told me that I had to wait until everyone was up and would have to leave with everyone. There was no way I was going to wait that long. If anything, I'd tell the guide I need to take a shit, and bounce. I didn’t have to do that and just decided to head down as most of the group finally reached the top. From there I was free, no longer bothered by anyone and I was able to explore the island. There is a nice lake with a Guishandao Guanyin statue. I think she refused Buddhahood to help people on Earth. I could be wrong. There are bunkers here and a village with an interesting story. There is nothing wrong with going on a tour, but just be warned, if you are like me and not into tours as much, you might be stuck in one.

龜山島:這裡你只能搭船並跟旅遊團來，團費大概1500台幣左右。可以看海豚跟上島。我不是很在乎跟團行程，所以當我下船後我就自己走了。導遊必須把我攔下來跟我解釋為什麼我要跟著團一起。我不是很開心。跟著一群家庭，小孩，長輩...他們速度就是很慢。走到山頂是一條很窄的步道，如果你不是經驗豐富的登山者，會覺得滿挑戰的，就像我，我不是很享受健行的過程。我只是為了拍照記錄途中令我印象深刻的東西。我們走上樓梯，小孩在哭。我很悲慘的被困在超慢的人群裡。終於到達中途休息的點，有一個台灣青少年決定自己往上走，導遊也沒說甚麼，所以我也跟著走了。我們比其他人快很多。等到下一個人爬上來的時候我已經拍完照，我只是在等我的夥伴，她告訴我我必須等大家都上來才能下去，我才不要在這裡浪費時間。我很ㄘ想跟導遊說我要上廁所然後就走了。我還是等到大部分人上來我才下去。自此之後我就自由了。不用受其他人打擾，我終於能在島上探險了。有一個很棒的湖，有一尊觀音像。我想她拒絕佛陀幫助世上的人類，我可能是錯的。有一些碉堡，也有一個有著有趣故事的村落，跟團沒甚麼不好。就是小心，如果你像我一樣，不喜歡跟團。 你可能會被困住。。

Beiguan Tidal Park 🚗

We are still in Yilan County but summing up our east coast adventure. Soon we will be in northern Taiwan. The tidal park is cool…but you can literally stop anywhere along the coast and see similar sights.​ 

北關海潮公園: 我們還在宜蘭縣，但快結束東海岸的冒險了。很快的我們就要進入北台灣。這個公園很酷，你可以隨時停車在海岸邊，看一些相似的景色。。

Shicheng Service Area 🚗

This is on the edge of Yilan County. It's a nice area to explore on the coast or it can be a quick stop to snap some photos.​ 

石城服務區: 這裡是宜蘭縣的邊邊。也是一個可以在海岸探險很棒的地方，短暫停留拍拍照。
