Miaoli City

Miaoli is a county in the northwest of Taiwan, located between Taichung City and Hsinchu County. It is known for its stunning natural scenery and the lush mountainous regions of Dahu and Nanzhuang. The county is also renowned for its Hakka culture, which is celebrated through festivals, traditional architecture, and local cuisine. Miaoli is home to several interesting attractions, including the historic Shengxing Railway Station, which has been preserved as a museum, and the Flying Cow Ranch, which offers visitors the chance to experience farm life and participate in a range of outdoor activities. Miaoli is a great destination for those seeking a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, with its peaceful countryside, fresh air, and beautiful natural scenery.

Miaoli is the end of our road trip around Taiwan. Miaoli is above Taichung. I drove through here a lot and only stayed here a couple days but there are some real cool things I discovered here. If you have been reading, it's pretty obvious which areas I enjoyed best. Miaoli is nice, but like Hsinchu, Taoyuen, and Yunlin, it just didn’t stick out like the other counties. ​ 

苗栗: 是我環島的終站。苗栗在台中上面新竹下面。四月到五月油桐花盛開。我開車經過好幾次，但真正住下來只有幾天。但有一些真的很酷的地方。如果你一直讀我的東西，就可以知道我喜歡的地方屬於甚麼類型。苗栗很棒，但就像新竹，桃園或雲林，就是沒有甚麼很吸引我的東西。但還是有一些不錯的。

Remains of Longteng Bridge ❤️🏠🚗

This has the remains of a ruined bridge and it's also a nice hike with some beautiful scenery.​ 

龍騰斷橋: 這裡是一條斷橋的遺址，來這裡健行不錯，有美麗的風景。

Hu Shan Hot Spring Hotel ❤️🚗

I stayed at this hotel without knowing that it was near some waterfalls I wanted to check out. The hotel itself was nice and quiet, but the surrounding area is pretty amazing. The property was on an island.​ 

虎山溫泉旅館: 我住在這裡但不知道旁邊就是我想要去看的瀑布。旅館本身還不錯，很安靜，附近的環境很厲害。旅館位在一個小島上

Shuiyun Falls ❤️🏠📸🚗

This hike has varying degrees of difficulty. There are 3 waterfalls that I am aware of and this one is the hardest and farthest to get to. It's not a long hike, but this waterfall and the one before it requires some actual climbing of large boulders and or walking through a river. I did not know this. I did not see the last two waterfalls. I saw only the first one which is nice. Beyond the suspension bridge, make a right. It's obvious as you see the waterfall on the suspension bridge, or you can take the steps up and follow the path. There will be two pathways eventually. One going up the mountains, and one going down toward the river. Go down toward the river. Eventually the walkway will bar you. Climb over and it will take you to the river at which point you either wade through the water or climb various boulders or both. I lost control of my drone here and decided I didn’t want to risk damaging my camera equipment as I don’t get paid for any of this. ​ 

水雲瀑布: 健行有不同程度的難度。總共有三個瀑布，這一個是最難，最遠的。不是很長的健行，但這一個瀑布跟前一個需要一些攀爬過巨石，或是要走過河流。我沒有看到最後兩個瀑布。我只看到這一個，也還不錯。在吊橋前，右轉，很明顯吊橋上你就可以看到瀑布。或是你可以多往上走幾步，沿著路徑。有兩條路徑，一條是往上爬山，另一條是往下到河流。往下走到河流，最後會沒辦法走，然後你就爬過去，你會到河流，不是涉水而過就是繼續爬大石頭，或是也可以兩種都做。我掉了空拍機，然後我並不想冒險弄壞我的相機畢竟沒人付我錢做這個。

Fire Mountain 📸🚗⭐

This place is super cool. I came here twice. The first time I couldn’t find it. No one spoke English and I was getting bad directions. I did manage to find an old guy on my hike having a picnic. I had no idea how he got his car there, but then again; I do. I’ve been offroad hella times because Google Maps gave me faulty directions, but my situations were a lot more scary. I wasn’t trying to chill; I was trying to get out alive. The 2nd time I went with NY Chen, and she handled it all and it was a super nice hike with interestingly shaped landforms. I would recommend it!​ 

火炎山: 這裡超酷的。我來了兩次。第一次的時候我找不到，沒有人說英語，所以我走錯路。我的確試著要找個老人一起吃吃東西。我不知道他是怎麼開到那裏的，沒錯，好幾次我都被google地圖導錯路。但顯然我的處境更加的可怕。我沒辦法放鬆，我只想生還。第二次是跟NY CHEN一去的，他知道要怎麼去，沒錯，是一趟很棒的健行，有一些有趣的地形。我會推薦這裡

Clash of the Titan 📸🚗⭐

This is a remote but cool location of a statue of a titan being buried alive. The statue is massive.​
