KAOSIUNG COUNTY
Kaohsiung is a southern county, home to Kaohsiung city, the 3rd largest city, which has the largest port in Taiwan. It is quite hot here all year round. The main thing I noticed about this city was the heavy amount of air pollution. It’s a decent coastal city with a few decent beaches. I liked it more than Taichung, but can’t really explain why. There are some interesting places to explore here. Overall, as a city, nothing really stood out for me.
高雄位於南方，是第三大城市，也擁有最大的港口，整年都炎熱。最引起我注意的就是嚴重的空氣汙染。有一些海灘。比起台中我更喜歡這裡，無法解釋為什麼。也有些有趣的地方可以去探索。整體來說，城市生活沒甚麼吸引我的。比較有趣的大概就是，月世界地形，河，步道。
This was a cool park with landforms that looked out of this world, moon rocks! The thing is these types of landforms can be found all over the place in Tainan and further south. Just drive in the cuts, and you’ll find something even better. For those less adventurous, this will suffice. It's nice!
田寮月世界:這是一個很酷的公園，有一個平台可以觀全景。這樣的地形也可以在台南或南邊一點的地區看到。你就往小路開去，會發現更好的東西。而那些比較不想要探險的人，這裡就夠了。很棒的地方。
I have never been in here, but it's in a cool location and it's a nice-looking building to shoot. I’ve drank and danced in front of the building and it's close to my favorite Mexican restaurant, probably in all Asia, so far.
高雄總圖: 我沒進去過，但他的地點不錯，建築本身很特別，建築本身很特別可以拍拍照。我曾經在前面喝酒跟跳舞，他也離我最愛的墨西哥餐廳不遠。
So, this cool looking building is a music center? I had no idea what it was until I wrote this entry. I just like the location, the architecture, and the lazer shows I have seen during festivals.
高雄音樂中心: 建築看起來很酷。一直到我寫這裡的時候我才知道他是音樂中心。我只是喜歡他的地點，建築，還有活動時的雷射光秀。
I liked wandering here. I just like all kinds of art. It's by the water, it's got some big murals and sculptures, and cool shops. Worth checking out.
駁二藝術特區: 我喜歡在這裡閒晃。我喜歡各種的藝術。在水邊。有一些大型壁畫跟雕塑，還有很酷的商店。值得一來。
This place was hella big. It’s awesome! It's so big I didn’t see it in its entirety. I would recommend coming here.
佛光山: 這裡超大。很棒的地方。因為園區太大了我沒看完全部。我會推薦來這裡一趟。
This was a cool place. I wouldn’t say it's a pond, but there are lots of interesting temples and sculptures here. I walked around the whole lake and checked it all out. I approve of this place!
蓮池潭: 這裡也是個很酷的地方。我覺得他是個池塘，但周圍有很多有趣的寺廟跟雕塑。我繞著湖走一圈。也很推薦來。
This was dope. I went on a boat with a friend and her son. We were talking about how to pronounce nudibraches, those cute little sea slugs. I’ve heard like 4 different ways to say them. I don’t know which one is correct. Then out of nowhere our driver started singing live. I was blown away. Go with friends or a loved one.
愛河:這裡超讚。我跟一個朋友還有他兒子一起坐船。我們在聊海兔，我曾經聽過四種不同的稱呼。我不知道哪一種是對的。然後突然駕駛就唱起歌來。我超驚訝的。最好跟朋友或愛人一起來。
It's a mountain with hella monkeys on it. Lots of trails. I have lived in Asia for 7 years and traveled to over 45 countries. Monkeys are still not played out to me! These monkeys may try to jack you.
壽山: 這裡有超多猴子。也有很多步道。我曾經住在亞洲七年，旅行過45個國家。猴子不是太吸引我。這些猴子也會視著搶你的東西。
This is not a white people fort. It was actually made by the Chinese. It's got some good views along the coast. I spent some time here photographing.
旗后砲台:這不是白人建造的。事實上是中國人。可以看海景，我在這裡花了點時間拍照。
It's a historical place. NY Chen found me this place when I was whining about places to visit because I was bored, and it gets harder and harder to find cool places. It's a Taiwainese Old Street. It is what it is.
旗山老街: 這裡充滿歷史感。當我正在抱怨很無聊沒地方去的時候，NY Chen告訴我這個地方，這裡就是台灣式的老街。就是這樣。
I went there right after Qishan Old Street. I thought it was lame. I thought it was a village, but it just seemed to be shops. I walked in, scanned the area through and walked out.
美濃: 旗山老街後我來了這裡。我以為這裡很爛，大概就只是個村莊之類的。但事實上有一些店。我走進去，看了看再出來。
Another rando with a good view. I wandered upon this and paid 50 or 100 NTD to go on their violin shaped bridge. It's got a nice view. Kind of out of the way. If you’re in the area you should go, but no need to make a mission out of it. You got to remember that most of the time Kaohsiung has heavy air pollution, so it's kinda ugly.
岡山之眼: 另一個不小心遇到的地方，風景很好。我走進去，付了50或100到小提琴形狀的橋。景很棒。有點不是在主要道路上。如果你在這個區域附近，你應該來一下，但不用特地來。你要記得，大部分時間高雄都是空汙嚴重。所以看起來很醜。。
I'm mentioning this place because Google maps fucked up my shit. This was one of those GoogleMap adventures where it took me off road. I was going over rocks, tree trunks, narrow ass roads until I finally was like, this isn’t right. I got out of my car. Buddha's name be praised, NY Chen was with me. I really thought I was going to have to call for help. I walked a bit and was like there is no way a car can continue on. So now I had to go back out. I got all paranoid because I thought a big spider went into my car and I was stressed backing over rocks and big ass tree roots. It was a mess. I didn’t find this spot either. I found it on another mission. This gives you a high vantage point of the highway. It would probably be better to take long exposure night shots here. It wasn’t all bad because there was a pond to check out. It's out of the way, so I wouldn't recommend wanting to go here unless you’re in the area.
蓮花亭:我會提到這裡是因為google地圖又搞了我。導航偏離路徑。我必需輾過石頭，樹根，超窄的路，一直到我感覺真的不對勁。我走出車子，佛祖保佑，我跟NY Chen在一起。我真的覺得我要報警了。我走了一小段，覺得真的不適車子可以走的。所以我開始後退出來。當時我真的崩潰因為我覺得有一隻大蜘蛛跑進我的車子。而且我壓力很大因為我要倒退開，石頭，樹根。超可怕的。我沒辦法找到這個點。我後來才在另一次的探險中找到。你可以走高速公路，也是一個拍長曝光很好的地方。這裡不是那麼糟，有一個小池塘。但不在路徑上。所以! 我不會推薦你特別來。
It's a mud volcano. Who doesn’t want to see oozing mud spewing out of a volcano or bubbling in one of its many pools? This is where we were at before the adventure above. Do not go to the above place from here or be prepared for some action!
這是一處泥火山。誰不想看泥漿滲出，從火山吐出來，或是在很多小池子冒出泡泡呢。這裡就是上面那個恐怖經過前我們來的地方。絕對不要從這裡出發前往蓮花亭。。
Remember Qishan Old Street? I didn’t seem too impressed, right? This is a few blocks away and it's in a big park. Check it out! It’s cool. I was bummed about everything else, until I wandered into here.
旗山神社遺址: 記得旗山老街嗎? 我沒有太驚艷。離旗山老街幾個街區，在一個大公園裡。來看看，很酷。我本來很煩，來到這裡就好多了。
This was one of my first missions. This might have been the first time I flew my drone. This whole area is out of the way but beautiful. I just drove around the area and wandered.
十八羅漢山: 這是我第一次飛空拍機的地方。這裡離主要道路很遠，但很美麗。我就隨便開開逛逛。
This was a dope temple with hella statues. I loved it, except for this damn dog who kept harassing me and barking at me. I decided not to enter the temple because the temple guard (dog) wasn’t welcoming. Still worth checking out.
這寺廟超讚，有很多雕像。我很愛，除了那隻一直騷擾我，對我叫的狗。我決定不要進去那個寺廟，因為那隻狗不歡迎我。但仍然值得一來。
A huge Buddha statue in the middle of nowhere, or in a beautiful jungle paradise. You choose. I don’t regret coming here.
很大的佛像，在不知道哪裡，或是在叢林裡。我不後悔來這裡。
It's a small island next to Kaohsiung. It's got a long park and beach area. Beach is ok. Nothing spectacular but the atmosphere is aight! People making impressive buildings in the sand, fresh seafood, biking and walking paths. I would make time to go here and relax at the beach and eat seafood.
旗津: 這是靠近高雄的小島。有一個很長的公園跟海邊。 海灘還可以。沒甚麼特別的，氣氛也還好。有些人會做沙雕，新鮮的海產，腳踏車道跟步道。我會花點時間來這裡放鬆跟吃海產。
I was looking for the LOVE lookout first, but it turns out that it's next to the shrine. If you want to go to the LOVE lookout, just click the link below for the shrine. I got confused finding the LOVE lookout first. The shrine itself was closed but the area is on a high hill that gives a very nice view of the city. The gardens are well kept and it's pretty here. Lots of monkeys too! I would come out here just for the views.
忠烈祠: 我原本在找LOVE觀景台，原來它就忠烈祠旁邊。如果你想來LOVE觀景台，你就導航這裡。這裡沒有對外開放，但這裡是位在小山坡上，可以俯瞰整座城市。花園維持得很好。也有很多猴子。我會來這裡看風景。
There are lots of wetland parks in Taiwan. Most of the ones I went to are pretty nice. Nothing wrong with this place, but what I found most interesting was that Linyuan district is literally a whole area kms long of factories shooting out horrible fumes into the atmosphere. From a distance it looked like a city of factories. While I am not a fan of pollution, it looked kinda cool and interesting. I’m just driving through block after block of barbed wire fences and factories.
林園海洋濕地公園: 台灣有很多濕地公園。大部分都還不錯。這裡更有趣的點是林園區，充滿工廠，它們正不斷的排煙。從遠處看就像是工廠城市。我不喜歡汙染，但這景象看起來很有趣。我開車穿越了一個又一個的帶刺的圍籬跟工廠。
This place was ok. It's got a beach but nothing to brag about. It's got a special tree that an older couple was sitting under. If you’re in the area, sure…if not, you can skip.
還可以的地方。有海灘，沒甚麼其他的東西。有一棵特別的樹，有一對老夫妻坐在下面。如果你在附近可以來，不需要特別來。
Again, not a big fan of pollution, but there is a factory district in this area. It’s kinda cool to drive through, just sayin.
林園: 我不喜歡汙染，這裡是工業區，在這裡開車還滿酷的。。
NY Chen and I went there. I was in a bad mood and kind of pissed off because I was driving so much. We got here and didn’t stay too long because I wasn’t in the mood to go on a long hike. Apparently, the road there has been closed for thousands of years and it just recently opened up. I guess I was one of the first people to go there. It’s up in the mountains. It's nice, it's forested. There is a little pond if you hike a bit with hundreds and hundreds of cute little black tadpoles. There is also a hike which I didn’t do.
天池: 我是跟NY Chen一起來的。我有點心情不好甚至生氣因為我開車開太久了。我們到這裡沒有待很久，因為我沒心情健行。這條路關閉了大概一千年吧，最近才開放的。我猜我是第一批來的。他在山上。很棒，森林裡。有一個小池塘，有很多超可愛的小蝌蚪。
