NEW TAIPEI CITY
Now we are in New Taipei City. That is not Taipei. To my understanding, New Taipei City is like a county made up of many cities. There’s a lot here. It consists of almost all the north Taiwan coast, the northwest, and anything northeast before Yilan, because of that, it offers a variety of different feels.
現在我們已經在新北市了。這裡有很多東西。幾乎涵蓋了整個北海岸，西北，宜蘭之前的東北邊。也因為如此，提供了不同的感覺。
This light house is on a cliff “overlooking the ocean, 3-wheel motion, coasten, down 23rd, smokin herb.” Sorry, made me think of C-B0. It was windy with a large view of the coast. Check it out!
三貂角燈塔: 這個燈坦在懸崖上，可以俯瞰到整個海面。風很大。來看看吧。
I have been here, but I don’t know where it leads. I didn’t want to rent a bike and find out. I walked into the tunnel and walked a ways but didn’t want to spend too much time here.
舊草嶺隧道: 我到過這裡，但我不知道他通往哪裡。我不想要租腳踏車。我走進隧道，但我並不想花太多時間走。
This is a nice place to hike. It's also easy. The final destination is Shifen falls, which closes at 4pm. I got there at like 4:15 and they wouldn’t let me see it. Regardless, I saw other falls and the hike was nice along the river.

This might be my favorite waterfall in Taiwan. I just think everything about it is amazing. The downside is, it's right on the road. You park and walk 20 feet to it. That could also be a good thing. This whole area is awesome. It is near Jui-fen and Remains of the 13 Levels. I have explored this area extensively, just driving around and walking.
黃金瀑布: 這是我最愛的瀑布! 我覺得每個東西都很驚豔。下半部緊鄰馬路。你停車然後走20步就到了。也是一件好事。整個區域都很棒。在九份，十三層遺址附近。我曾經探索了整個區域，靠著開車跟走路。
The Remains of the 13 Levels. I so want to break into this place and walk around and explore. I’ve seen photos and people have. I have flown my drone and taken pictures of it. It is also known as the Potala Palace of the Mountain Mines. It was built by the Japanese and the building used to be a copper and gold smelter plant. Again, this whole area is amazing. The villages that dart the area, the coast. Even coming here during storms, I have spent hours in windy, rainy conditions watching and photographing the waves crash against the shore and stone walls. All of the northern Taiwan coast is legit!
十三層遺址:我想要闖進去，四處看看探險，我看過有人這樣做。我用我的空拍機拍了很多照片，，這裡也可以叫他礦山的布達拉宮。是日本人建造的，整個建築是拿來煉銅跟金。整個區域都很棒。有村落跟海岸。即是在下暴雨的時侯來，我也花了幾小時在大風大雨的情況下，觀看跟拍海浪拍打海岸跟石牆的照片。整個北海岸都很棒。
I found this place randomly. It's an observation point and you get a good view of the Remains of the 13 Levels, and the mountain beyond. Good place for photos!
我偶然發現這裡。是一個觀賞點，在這裡你可以看到13層遺址，然後山在背後。很棒的拍照點。
Right on the coast. This has the special Nanya Rock, however much of the rocks are similar in appearance on this coast. There are many stops to observe the coastline or make your own.
南雅奇石: 就在海岸邊。有很特別的石頭，但是其實海邊的石頭看以來都差不多。海岸邊有很多停留點，你可以自己決定。
Every place has an old street. This was a small little one on my way to Yilan.
貢寮老街。每個地方都有一條老街，這是小小的一條，在你去宜蘭的路上會經過。
The old streets in the jungles of New Taipei City are my favorites. Not because of the old streets themselves, but locations. Lots of these places have rivers and buildings set up along the rivers on cliffs, bridges, and lots of greenery. For me, very pleasing to the eye.
雙溪老街: 在新北市叢林裡的老街是我的最愛。不是因為老街本身，而是地點。很多地方都有河流經過，房子就建在河邊，懸崖，橋，很多樹。對我來說，對眼睛很好。
This was my favorite old street. It was small but it had this river with ducks and tons of fish. I loved how the houses were built on the side of the river with its little bridges and old school feel. I had a bomb mango smoothie in the little square. This was also when the siren went off and everyone had to get off the street for 30 minutes. So, I just relaxed and enjoyed my time there. You should go here!
石碇老街: 這是我最愛的老街。小小的，旁邊有河流，鴨子跟很多魚悠游其中。我喜歡這裡是因為房子就建在河道旁，有一些小橋，復古的感覺。我在這裡喝了超好喝的芒果冰沙，在一個小小的廣場周邊。這天也是演習時間，每個人都需要離開街道30分鐘。所以我就休息跟享受時光。你應該要來這裡的。
This old street is bigger than the others and I was ravenous for some stinky tofu and had it in a very spicy soup. It was probably the spiciest thing I ate in Taiwan. I like spicy. It is a bit crowded though, and if you have been following me, you know I don’t like crowds much.
深坑老街: 這個老街比其他的都大，我很想吃麻辣臭豆腐。 這大概是我吃過在台灣最辣的。我喜歡吃辣。這裡有點擁擠，如果你一直有讀我的東西，你會知道我不喜歡人多的地方。
I have mixed feelings about this place. First of all, the lake is beautiful but the link I am sending on here takes you to a kinda generic spot. I think there are lots of ways to get here and see different parts of the lake. I had a 98 Mazda Tribute. It's a big old car and had problems with steep uphills and I just didn’t like these narrow and curvy roads. Thousand Island Lake is all about narrow curvy roads. This link takes you to the base, but you couldn’t actually go to the lake. It seemed to take you to someone's house. The view was rather generic, but I know if you meander about you can find more.
千島湖: 我對這裡有複雜的情感。首先，這個湖很美，但我覺得我提供的連結會帶你到一個很普通的地方。我想應該有很多路可以到這裡，然後從不同角度看湖。我有一台大台的老車。上坡會有點問題，所以我不是走超窄又彎的路。而到千島湖的路剛好都是這樣的。這個連結會帶你到湖底，但你也不能走到湖邊。他會帶你到好像是某地的家。風景很一班，但我知道你如果走其他路你會發現更多。
This gives you a top view of the lake. It was amazing, BUT I hated the drive. Narrow cliff side curvy roads just aren’t my thing with the car I had. I got to the top and I was already pissed off because I would have to drive down, and there are some real curvy parts. If you go beyond the benches, there is a pathway with stairs leading down. They might lead to the base. I didn’t go all the way; I was already heated, and it would have taken time and time wasn’t on my side.
鱷魚島平台: 這裡你會由上往下看到湖景。很棒的風景。但我超討厭開車到這裡。很窄，旁邊就是懸崖彎彎曲曲的路，我真的不喜歡。我走到最高點，然後已經生氣了因為我必須再開下去，真的很難開。如果你從長凳的地方繼續往下走，有一條路往下。也許會到湖底。我沒有走。我很熱，然後要花很多時間走，我並不喜歡。
I didn’t make it very far here. When you hike up to the temple or building, it was closed, so I couldn’t go beyond. There was a small river and waterfall. It was all stairs. Easy to reach the building embedded into the rock which gave it a real awesome look.
銀河洞: 我沒有走到很遠。當你往上走到寺廟或建築，他沒有開，我就不能往更遠的地方走。有一條小河跟小瀑布。全部都是樓梯。很容易到達，是一個建造在石頭裡的建築，看起來很驚人。
Now we come to Joufen. I went to Joufen quickly, because I am a fan of Japanese Anime. Which means I am a fan of Hayao Miyazaki. I have been watching anime pretty hard since I was a kid. I heard there was a connection between this place and Spirited Away, so I had to go. Juofen is nestled on a mountain side with a great view of the coast and Keelung. It has many narrow alleys and cool architecture, thus making it a very interesting and cool place to visit. It has some very interesting shops. I know they have lots of teahouses here. I bought my little No Face backpack there. I just loved the way it's set up. However, Joufen isn’t a place I am going to stay more than a day at.
九份: 現在我們來到九份。我是一個動漫迷，所以在台灣的前幾年我就來這裡了。我是宮崎駿的粉絲。當我還小時我看過很多電影，我聽說九份跟神隱少女有關，所以我就來了。九份是沿山建造的，所以可以看到海岸跟基隆。有很多窄巷和很酷的建築。也是他很有趣的地方。有很多有趣的商店，但我不買東西也不吃。我知道有很多茶屋，我帶著我的無臉男背包。我就是很喜歡她的環境。但，九份不是一個我會待超過一天的地方。
Joufen might be the most popular place in Taiwan. It is crowded ALL THE TIME, especially on weekends. That is a huge negative for me. During summer 2021, Taiwan was at a level 3 Covid level, which scared everyone away and meant it's time for the Frisco Roamer to come out of his slumber and travel. I had Joufen to myself and I took advantage and went to town on getting as many stills as possible. Despite being crowded, it is a must see.
九份可能是台灣最熱門的景點。無時無刻都很擠，特別是周末。對我來說是個大缺點。在2021的夏天，台灣進入新冠肺炎的三級警戒，所以每個人都很怕，對我來說就是我旅行的好時機。我包場了九份，然後我利用這點拍了很多好照片。除了很多人之外，九份是必來的。
It's a rock that looks like an elephant head with a trunk. It’s cool, if you have time.
深澳象鼻岩: 就是有一顆石頭看起來像大象的頭還有鼻子。很酷，如果你有時間就來吧。
This is a cool place with some very dope looking rock formations! It's a tourist attraction but worth checking out. It got the name Queens Head because one of the rocks is shaped like, you got it, a queen's head. It’s a long line to take a picture with the head. I didn’t wait in it. I caught different angles of the head.
回到新北市(筆記:新北勢跟台北市大概是我最少探索的地方)
女王頭:很酷的地方有一個很酷的石頭。也是一個旅遊熱點，但值得來看一看。這裡會被叫做女王頭是因為有一顆石頭看起來像女王的頭。要跟女王頭拍照必須排隊。我沒有等，所以我就拍了一張不同角度的頭。
I had a somewhat difficult time finding this place. I was chased by some dogs wandering narrow alleys. It was kinda scary, but I eventually found the UFO village. It’s pretty eerie, but the idea was awesome. UFO shaped homes right along the beach. Why it didn’t succeed, I have no idea. Some buildings you can go into, some you can’t. They are dilapidated and some are covered in graffiti. LOVE IT! UPDATE: JULY 2022- I came here again and found a path right to it. If you go into the Howard Green Bay Resort Hotel parking lot and head toward the beach and stick to the right, you will drive right into it. I think this whole area is abandoned, not just the village. Check it out! There are signs that say no video recording or photos. Do that at your own risk.
飛碟屋: 有一點難發現這裡。我被一些狗追，它們在狹窄的巷子裡遊蕩，很可怕。最後我發現了飛碟屋的村落所在。相當怪異，但建造的點子很不錯。飛碟形狀的房子就座落在海邊。為什麼他沒有成功呢? 我也不知道。有一些建築你可以走進去，但有一些不行。他們都很破舊有些有塗鴉。我很愛。2022六月更新: 我又來這裡了，發現一條路可以開到。如果你走進福泰翡翠灣渡假飯店的停車場，然後往海邊走，一直朝右邊走，你就會直接開進去了。我想這整個區域都廢棄了，不只是這個村落。來看看，有一些牌子寫著不要拍照跟攝影。想要這麼做的話要冒點險。
This was a cool spot on the coast. You go into a harbor, walk up some wooden steps and then down onto rocks. You can explore the coastline and go through a mini “cave.” I liked it, but again, the whole coast is similar to this.
這裡是一個海邊滿酷的點。你往港口走，走上木階梯，然後走下石頭。你可以探索海岸線然後走進一個迷你洞穴，我很喜歡，但是，整個海岸線風景都差不多。
This place was a bit different from the rest of the coast. There is paid parking right next to the location. I think my total ran 60 NT. Bathrooms, cafe, and a shop or two. The area is similar to the rest of the coast, but there is a bridge that was closed off for some reason that would have been cool to go to. There was also another mini “cave” and entrance. You could use steps to go up the rocky entrance to get a slight overview of the area. It was nice.
石門洞:這裡有點跟其他海邊不太像。有一個付費停車場就在石門洞旁。我想我花了60元，有廁所，咖啡，一兩間商店。這裡跟其他海岸也有點像但是有一個橋，因為某種原因關閉了。也有一個迷你洞穴跟入口。你可以用旁邊的樓梯爬上石門洞，可以稍微看到這裡的全景。還不錯。
I went here to check out a lighthouse. I won’t enter the coords for the lighthouse. If you made it this far, you can find it. I was super hungry, and they have a fish market and some restaurants with some fresh seafood. It wasn’t crowded so I had some BBQ squid, oysters, and shrimp. Since you’re here, why not check out the fish market and lighthouse, walk off that meal.
富基漁港: 我來這裡是看燈塔的。我沒有依燈塔座標走，如果你開遠一點你就會發現。我超餓的，這裡是個漁市，餐廳有新鮮的海鮮。沒有很多人，所以我吃了烤魷魚，生蠔，和蝦。如果你來這裡就順便看看燈塔跟漁市。
